We gave the John’s Creek home a brand new look with a fresh coat of exterior paint. Painting brick can give any home a facelift and breathe new life into it. We definitely think that this paint job made the John’s Creek house the envy of all the neighbors.
To start, we pressure washed the brick to clear away any loose dirt, paint, oils, or other debris to make sure that the new coat of paint will be easily applied. Once we finished pressure washing the brick, we gave it time to dry since brick can trap a lot of moisture into its pores. This took a few days to completely dry out.
We hand scraped the remaining loose dirt that clung to the brick surface so that there wouldn’t be any imperfections when we finally applied the paint.
We then sanded the brick smooth using a circular sander. Then, we repaired any missing and damaged mortar. We then applied primer to the brick so that the paint could be applied as smoothly as possible. We caulked any area that can let water in, even an opening as small as a 1/16 inch. This includes doors, windows, trim, and chimney caps. Before beginning, we removed all the dust that’s come to rest on the brick face with a brush. We chose Sherwin-Williams Resilience paint that comes with a lifetime warranty. The results are incredible!
We also replaced any wood that had rotted away and stained it so that it would elongate the life of the surface for years to come!
